Since 1989, the Institut de Ciències Polítiques i Socials (ICPS) has uninterruptedly conducted an annual survey about the political culture of the Catalans. This is Catalan public opinion poll about politics with the longest time span. The survey measures the opinions of Catalan residents aged 18 years and over about various topics, as well as their political attitudes and behavior.

In order to facilitate the statistical exploitation of the Survey, ICPS provides prospective users with an integrated dataset that includes all the surveys conducted between 1991 and 2023 (the data of the surveys of 1989 and 1990 are not computer readable). The integrated database is accompanied by extensive technical documentation.  

This documentation includes:

• A survey documentation report (technical annex) for each wave of the survey.
• A matrix summarizing the different variables (name and label) and the wave (survey-year) in which they are included. In this matrix the variables have been grouped according by topics.
• A section summarizing the values / categories of each of the variables, which provides information about their coding.
• The survey questionnaires in Catalan, and also, when available, in Spanish (since 2007).

When using the dataset it is necessary to keep in mind a series of considerations:

• The fieldwork of all the waves was conducted through face-to-face interviews, except for the 2003 and 2004 waves, which were administered by phone.
• The degree of reliability and accuracy of the information obtained from this data through the analyses conducted by the users remains the sole responsibility of the user.

Finally, with the aim of promoting the dissemination of the integrated dataset, we ask users to include the following reference to the data when it is used in publications:
